What is Cirrus ?
Cirrus is the new moisture management fibre, developed by Wellman International Limited.
Cirrus fibres are manufactured using a unique polyester co-polymer and novel surface treatments resulting in a fibre
which exhibits:-
- Moisture management, moving moisture away from the body during sleep
- Heat management, maintaining ideal body temperature during sleep
Did you know that our bodies lose up to 500ml of water during a night's sleep ?
The performance of a bedding product is measured not only by its relative comfort and warmth, but also by its ability to control humidity levels within the bed.
Cirrus Climate Control
- Our comfortable skin temperature is 34°C.
- Traditionally, we keep our bodies warm by the appropriate choice of clothing or bedding product providing the necessary insulation.
- Conversely, overheating of our bodies is principally controlled by the process of evaporative cooling via perspiration over the entire surface area of our skin and the loss of liquid through special sweat glands.
- Studies show that we lose up to 500ml of water during sleep.
- If moisture is not directed rapidly away from the body, humidity levels in the bed increase, leading to 'stickiness' and interrupted sleep patterns.
- Over time, research has proven that inadequate sleep can have a detrimental effect on our health and lifestyle.
- Cirrus fibres have the ability to transport moisture away from the body, through the bedding products to the surrounding environment, thus ensuring a controlled and comfortable micro-climate during sleep.
Performance
Results confirm that products containing Cirrus fibres have better breathability and essentially better moisture buffering properties, compared to standard polyester or feather and down products.
Cirrus products exhibit a high breathability achieving the perfect balance of high thermal resistance and low water vapour resistance.
Products containing Cirrus fibres have the ability to adjust, control and regulate humidity levels within the bed.
Cirrus fibres do not absorb moisture, but simply transport it away from the body, promoting a dry and comfortable micro-climate within the bed.
The lower moisture absorbency of Cirrus fibres compared with other natural fibres helps to minimise the possibility of microbial growth.
Conclusion
Cirrus fibre products help to control and regulate the bedding environment, keeping the body not only warm, but also dry and comfortable.
Cirrus fibre products offer today's discerning consumer the lifestyle requirements of luxury and comfort together with warmth and moisture management.
...contributing to a more relaxed and better quality of sleep and over time, an improved quality of living.
